Deconstruct Nation is a customisable, entrepreneurial based game. The idea of the game is focused on the aspect of dismantling a particular item, something mundane that we use on an everyday basis. With the deconstructed pieces, it is then the players choice to recreate the item again but in a way that will be an improvement. This means taking apart the product and deciding to either sell some parts to buy new, better and improved parts to increase the performance of the item. The idea of buying and selling is taken into account, as well as supply and demand.
The purpose of the game is to make items better
for the advanced future, and this will be determined by how much the item is
sold for. The first level for the game would be to destroy and redesign a bike. After you successfully sell your bike for the highest price possible, you can move onto the next level which would be to recreate a toilet. The items will vary with anything from redesigning a wardrobe to reconstructing a laptop. You can sell
the parts that you don’t want and use the money to buy newer materials. The goal is to
recreate the object better than it was before.
To test how well the new-and-improved item works, the item will be competed against other players online. This makes the game interactive and competitive, ideally encouraging more people to recommend the game to their friends and to download it. Their will be an online marketplace to sell your newly created product where you try to auction it for the highest possible price. A leaderboard system will be put into place with whoever earns the most money. Buying items is also encouraged so that you could use the parts from that item to improve the product you're already working on.
The unique selling point to the game is that you can play against other players online and buy and sell with them. This motivates the players to continue destroying and constructing more items to improve their own. An entrepreneuarial aspect of the game is expressed through this concept. The online marketplace can be used to sell singular parts or new entire creations. The money made from sold items will be the fund to create the best improved item.
